Reason #52: Mock Trial

Mock Trial

The Mock Trial program was created to help students acquire a working knowledge of our judicial system, develop analytical abilities and communication skills, and gain an understanding of their obligations and responsibilities as participating members of the bar. Each year, national and regional associations sponsor competitions throughout the country. The materials they produce include a hypothetical civil or criminal case (including summaries of case law, witness statements, official exhibits, and simplified rules of evidence) and competition rules. Teams are invited to participate in the annual Palmetto State Classic Mock Trial Competition.
